noun; the action or process of being received as adequate or suitable, typically to be admitted into a group
Summer is a great time to get in touch and reconnect with old friends. The long days make it easy to prepare a meal, listen to their stories, share a bottle of wine, see life through their experiences; laugh at similarities and differences.
Old friends instinctuallly know your history; where you come from and who you are at your core. They share pieces of your past through memories of good times and bad. It’s a different chemistry than family. No judgement, just a heartfelt understanding. Sometimes only they can help move you forward with a support like no other.
It’s not until I experience times like these that I realize how comforting life can be. Seeing myself through the eyes of others that know me and understand me and love me no matter what gives me peace. I kind of like that about myself…unconditional acceptance of my clique. And feeling it reciprocated, exponentially.
“The greatest gift that you can give to others is the gift of unconditional love and acceptance.”
