verb; take air into the lungs and then expel it, especially as a regular physiological process
One of my friends recently told me he didn’t believe in New Year’s Resolutions. Everyday was a new day to begin again, do life better, be inspired. I think he is right. But I still like setting goals and measuring myself on reaching them, or changing them. Certainly it shouldn’t be only once a year though. Life is fluid. It is happening continuously. Everyday.
The thesaurus says breathe is to inhale and exhale, respire, draw breathe; puff, pant, blow, gasp, wheeze, huff. And be alive, be living, live. Also, (my favorite) instill, infuse, inject, inspire, impart, imbue. Whisper, murmur, purr, sigh, say.
The word “breathe” has been the inspiration for many a song, album and even the name of bands. It has been the name of books, movies and art pieces. “Breathe” is my motivation to continue being W.I.S.E., an acronym for “wellness”, “inspiration”, to “simplify” and “efficacious” organize my life. All ongoing processes. “Breathe” is also an invitation to focus on the moment, take it all in and let out what is not necessary. To notice more of the moon cycles and the seasons. To truly experience each day in the light of the sun. To live breathe by breathe, moment by moment. This is my aspiration for 2016, and I kind of like that about myself!
“For breath is life, and if you breathe well you will live long on earth.”
